here is a quick Q&A i had with The Night Shift an up and coming band from Roswell, GA
take a listen right here while you read the article

Q: Tell me a little bit about how the band started and who’s involved and where you guys are timeline wise?
A: The band was put together in June 2014 and the band started with myself and two different members on drums and bass, since we’re a 3 piece. Then the new and more official members Jon and Kegan joined in around March of this year and we’ve been really kicking up the dirt since we banded together. Since March we’ve been playing out in Athens at the 40 watt, Savannah at a couple of big house shows, and have been building our reputation in Atlanta playing venues such as The Masquerade, Smith’s Olde Bar, several house shows, and we are just getting started with playing in charity events in supports of the arts in Atlanta. Right now we’re planning out our first out of state tour which will ideally be made up of 5 Thursday-Saturday runs in the springs in GA, NC, SC, TN, and AL. We just picked up representation from a booking company called Airbound Entertainment that we feel is gonna be a real big help in getting us farther in the touring scene as well.

Q:What are some major influences to your music and also what have you been listening to lately?

A: We each definitely have our different influences on music. Such as for myself as a guitarist and main vocalist, I take a lot away from singers and front men such as Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys, Thom York of Radiohead, and Matt Schultz of Cage The Elephant. Guitar-wise I’m very driven from a large amount of jam bands, My Morning Jacket, Arctic Monkeys again, and Tame Impala’s crazy synth style is something I’ve been trying to capture on guitar through the use of a lot of FX pedals, as well as our bassist.

Our bassist, Kegan, tends to draw influence from bands with more funky bass lines and some hard rock styled brit pop bands such as Band of Skulls, Royal Blood, Kings of Leon, and The Dead Weather, and definitely The Beatles.

Our drummer, Jon, loves to get busy and technical on the drums and really loves bands like Coheed and Cambria, some Panic! at the Disco, and some old Fall Out Boy. Big lover of some punkier stuff.

Q: When was the first time you realized you wanted to pursue music and start to take it seriously?

A: We all have had different influences and events in our lies occur that brought us together to want to make music seriously. I’ve been trying to get a band together for the last 2 years or so, but we all started feeling really driven about it at young ages in our teens. Definitely though, this band is when we all started to feel really serious about music and trying to make it a full time career.
