I had a chat with Ian Cummins the lead guitarist from Renattajane, he and the rest of the band are set to kick off the year in the studio with the Cure’s producer David Allen. Ian along with Jono Linden( Singer), Luke Price(Bass) and Jonny Finnigan (Drums) also have shows on the 2end of January at  Proud Camden and finish off the month at the worlds end in Finsbury on Jan 26th.

what are some musical influences and what do you listen to now ?

Ian:

Some of our musical inspirations are The Strokes, The Libertines, Longpigs, Band Of Skulls, Arctic Monkeys.

As a band we listen to en eclectic mix of basically anything we can get our ears on. From the backbone of the 90’s that were Oasis and Blur (it always seems to come back to our writing), to every good thing from all genres of modern day music. A few of us love the classic melodic rock of Pearl Jam, Luke the bass player’s idol is Paul McCartney and this can be heard in a lot of his Bass lines. Jonny loves a bit of Ian Dury and The Blockheads. Ian loves Jack White and Radiohead, while Jono replicates a subtle hint of Paul Wellers Vocals. We like things that get us going, anything that gets our heads moving.
